I cannot believe that December is upon us! It’s unbelievable that the year is drawing to a close and we are hurtling rapidly towards Christmas and some much needed holidays. In realising that the festive season is moving to full swing, I also realised that I needed to get my festive baking on (you […]

In a little break from posting about London (how awful is it all generally and what happened at The Ledbury?), I thought I’d quickly share a recipe for some pretty fabulous cupcakes (if I do say so myself). I made these cupcakes just before we went on our trip overseas as a thank-you and […]

Hello lovely readers! It’s been quite the blog hiatus I know – I have lots of good excuses for the lack of posting, but I’ll save those and get to the good part – baking! My dad recently turned 60 (well a couple of months ago, but we needn’t quibble about timeliness). As per […]

C requested that her birthday cake be chocolatey and naturally, my first thought was to bake an almond meal based cake, […]

A while ago, I blogged about some 36 hour chocolate chip cookies that I considered to be the best  I’d ever made. It was therefore quite surprising to come across a comment from David Lebovitz in his book Ready for dessert where he mentioned the 36 hour cookie and that he thought his recipe for chocolate chip cookies was superior. […]

Hello blogosphere! Apologies for my recent lack of posting – this time of year has been just that little too busy on the socialising and cooking front! But thankfully, some of that cooking has been wonderfully festive, so I thought I better blog some of these delicious little treats before Christmas is over. For the […]

It’s fair to say that I am easily led. Particularly when it comes to sweet treats. After reading about chocolate and peanut delights on wheres the beef? and cake mistress, it was inevitable I would make a batch for myself. I decided to make these for my friend M and her little boy, J […]
