Hello! A little break over the Christmas and new year period turned into a much longer blog hiatus than expected. But I am back! And I have a lot of great stuff to share. This salad is a favourite that I have been meaning to blog for a really long time. Like some of my other […]

Hello lovely readers! It’s been quite the blog hiatus I know – I have lots of good excuses for the lack of posting, but I’ll save those and get to the good part – baking! My dad recently turned 60 (well a couple of months ago, but we needn’t quibble about timeliness). As per […]

After baking Thomas Keller’s white cupcakes (again) I found myself with a surplus of egg yolks. These easy chocolate pots from my favourite dessert book seemed like a perfect use for them. Ever since then, I’ve been trying to incorporate more iron into my diet. A friend of mine makes these fab little tahini balls which are packed full of iron […]

My lovely friend S was hosting a picnic for her 30th birthday. I offered to bring some cupcakes along and decided to do some experimenting to make a flourless lime cupcake. I reasoned that I could simply tweak my classic flourless orange cupcake recipe and top with a zesty coconut frosting to make a little […]

I have a confession to make (which is no surprise to those who know me personally), I am quite uncoordinated. I am the person that inexplicably trips, or drops things, or accidentally walks into the door frame. With this in mind, you can understand why the prospect of using a blowtorch in the kitchen […]
